For centuries, Mumiyo (also known as Shilajit) has been revered in traditional medicine for its powerful healing properties. This natural substance, found in the mountains, is rich in organic minerals and bioactive compounds that support tissue regeneration, reduce inflammation, and enhance overall health. Below is a detailed guide on how to use Mumiyo to treat a variety of health conditions, from joint pain to burns and digestive disorders.
For Musculoskeletal Injuries and Disorders
Joint and Bone Injuries:
Apply a salve made from 5 g of Mumiyo mixed with 100 g of honey to the injured area before bed.
Also, take 0.2–0.5 g of Mumiyo internally, dissolved in water, milk, or juice.
Duration: 3 weeks. You may repeat the treatment after a 7–10 day break.
Joint Pain:
Use a compress of 0.5 g Mumiyo + 100 g honey, and take 0.2 g orally an hour before breakfast.
Duration: 10 days per course; full treatment may require 2–3 courses.
Bone Diseases:
Take 0.1–0.2 g of Mumiyo twice daily, dissolved in water, milk, or honey (1:20 ratio).
Course: 25 days, followed by a 10-day break before repeating.
For Skin Conditions and Wound Healing
Dermatological Issues & Skin Damage:
Dissolve 10 g Mumiyo in 200 ml water. Soak a folded cotton pad or gauze in the solution and apply to the affected area.
Wrap with a bandage and change every 3 days.
Burn Treatment:
Use a 1–3% freshly prepared Mumiyo solution. For severe burns, combine with 0.5% novocaine or streptomycin.
Also take 0.25 g of Mumiyo orally, twice daily, 1–2 hours before meals for 10 days.
Optional topical balm: Soften Mumiyo with boiled water drops and mix with goose, pork, or chicken fat to create a healing ointment.
Eczema:
For flare-ups, use 2% Mumiyo lotion and rub 3% ointment into the affected area twice daily – once during the day and again at night.

Peptic Ulcer of the Stomach or Duodenum:

Gastritis and Duodenitis:
Take 0.1 g Mumiyo three times a day:
- With normal gastric secretion: 45–50 minutes before meals
- With low secretion: 30 minutes before meals
- With high secretion: 1.5 hours before meals
Course: 18–20 days. Required Mumiyo: 5–6 g.
