Recovering after a stroke is a process that should begin as early as possible. The sooner the body is supported, the greater the chances for restoring lost functions and preventing further complications.

The first and most important step is proper positioning in bed. On the first day after the stroke, the patient’s head should be slightly elevated at about a 30° angle. It is equally important to correctly arrange and support the paralyzed limbs to prevent stiffness, swelling, or joint contractures.
From the very first week, gentle surface massage of the affected limbs is recommended. This helps stimulate blood circulation, prevent muscle atrophy, and maintain some level of nerve activity. In modern rehabilitation, doctors often also use electrical muscle stimulation with special devices, but therapeutic exercise remains the primary and most effective method for restoring mobility.
Stroke survivors essentially have to relearn basic skills — walking, dressing, eating, and performing personal hygiene. They also have to develop new ways to manage everyday tasks they once did automatically. For this reason, emotional support from family members is just as important as medical care. A positive mindset, encouragement, and the belief in recovery can dramatically improve rehabilitation outcomes.
My Personal Story
A stroke occurs when blood circulation in the brain is disrupted. In my case, it was triggered by high blood pressure, and it happened completely unexpectedly.
First, my face went numb. Then, my arm and leg felt lifeless. A sharp headache hit me, dizziness followed, and I completely lost my ability to speak.
The thought of becoming permanently disabled was unbearable. I made up my mind — I would fight for my recovery with everything I had.
Of course, I followed the doctors’ instructions and took the prescribed medications exactly as directed. But I also began looking for natural, traditional remedies to aid my recovery. The results exceeded all expectations — my lost abilities returned far quicker than anyone predicted, and today I feel even better than I did before the stroke.
I want to share with you a couple of recipes that were a big part of my healing journey.
Recipe #1 – Mumiyo (Shilajit) Solution
What you’ll need:
- 10 grams of pure mumiyo (also known as shilajit)
- 1.5 liters of boiled water, cooled to room temperature
Preparation:
Dissolve the mumiyo in the cooled, boiled water. Pour the solution into a plastic bottle and store it in the refrigerator.
How it works:
Mumiyo is known in traditional medicine for its ability to support tissue regeneration, improve blood circulation, and accelerate the healing of damaged brain areas. It also helps the body absorb and break down scar tissue.
How to take it:
- Drink 1 tablespoon twice daily: once in the morning on an empty stomach (30–40 minutes before breakfast) and once in the evening about 3 hours before bedtime.
- Continue for 21 days, then take a 5–7 day break.
- Repeat this cycle for at least 6 months.
Extra tip:
For an even stronger effect, combine the mumiyo with aloe juice. Aloe enhances mumiyo’s cleansing and tissue-repairing properties. You can also use juices from kalanchoe and plantain leaves, which help dissolve clots and scars in brain tissue.
- Kalanchoe juice: 1 teaspoon once daily
- Plantain juice: 2 teaspoons once daily
Recipe #2 – Propolis (Bee Glue) Tincture
Another remedy that supported my recovery was a propolis tincture. I used it in between my mumiyo treatment cycles. For one week, during the break from mumiyo, I took the tincture daily.
Propolis is valued for its anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting, and nerve-regenerating properties. It supports overall health, strengthens the body’s defenses, and may improve brain function.
Why Massage Matters After a Stroke
Beyond these natural remedies, I cannot stress enough the importance of regular massage. For stroke patients, gentle massage of the back, arms, and legs several times a day — even for just 10 minutes — can:
- Improve blood circulation
- Prevent stiffness
- Help maintain muscle tone
- Reduce swelling in the limbs
Massage, when combined with physical therapy, is one of the most effective ways to stimulate the nervous system and speed up the return of motor functions.
Understanding Stroke and Why Prevention is Key
A stroke can have life-changing consequences, often affecting mobility, speech, memory, and even personality. While recovery is possible, prevention is always better than treatment.
One of the leading causes of stroke is uncontrolled high blood pressure. Others include:
Atherosclerosis (narrowing of the arteries)
- Blood clots
- Diabetes
- Smoking and excessive alcohol consumption
- Sedentary lifestyle
- Poor diet
By making healthy lifestyle choices — managing blood pressure, exercising regularly, eating a balanced diet, and reducing stress — you can significantly reduce your risk.
Final Thoughts
I know firsthand how devastating a stroke can be. But I also know that the body has an incredible ability to heal, especially when given the right tools and care.
The two remedies I’ve shared — mumiyo solution and propolis tincture — became essential parts of my recovery, alongside professional medical treatment and rehabilitation exercises.
I am sharing my experience because I want others to know that there is hope. Even if you or a loved one has suffered a stroke, recovery is possible. With determination, proper care, and the right natural support, you can reclaim your health and independence.
💛 Wishing you strength, healing, and good health!
