If you love rich, chocolaty desserts with creamy layers and glossy glaze, Prague Cake is the perfect treat to try. This simple version of the classic cake is easy to prepare and guaranteed to impress with its deep flavor and soft texture.
For the Cream:
- 200 g butter
- ½ can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
For the Glaze:
- 50 g butter
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
For the Sponge Cake:
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1½ cups flour
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
Instructions:
- Prepare the cream by whipping the butter with the condensed milk. Add the cocoa and mix until smooth and creamy.
- Prepare the glaze by combining all glaze ingredients in a saucepan. Stir and heat gently until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened. Let cool.
- Make the sponge:
Beat the eggs with sugar. Add condensed milk and sour cream mixed with baking soda, and beat again. Add the flour and cocoa powder, and gently fold the batter until fully combined. - Line a baking dish with greased parchment paper. Bake the batter at 180°C (356°F) until done. Let it cool completely.
- Once the sponge is cool, cut it into 3 layers. Spread the cream between the layers. Pour the glaze over the top of the assembled cake.
